The Story
‘KOKON SILK’ is a silk fabrics retailer. The brand carries premium quality fabrics supply and creates customized silk products for their clients.
The name ‘KOKON’ not only mimics the sound ‘cocoon’—one of the most important components to obtain silk fibres, but in Japanese the word also means “ancient and modern” (古今)—the concept that the brand wants to achieve using the connection between western and eastern’s historical and cultural aspects.
The Concept
The logo mark directly conveys the idea of KOKON SILK—the illustration of a cocoon while reflect the traditional feeling of asian aesthetic through the brush strokes.
In addition, the logotype visually evokes the traditional sensation and the elegance of the brand with Trajan—the serif face that considered to be the world’s oldest typeface, but carries succesfully the modern and voguish sense.
